"How Are They Doing?": Dutton Ranch (Update), Off Campus (Update), Jack Ryan: Ghost War, Nemesis, The Boroughs
Dutton Ranch and Off Campus improve; the Jack Ryan movie looks solid; Nemesis and The Boroughs underwhelm.
Update: Dutton Ranch on Paramount+: Paramount recently put out its customary “best series launch ever” press release for the streaming series du jour, but it also contained a note that Dutton Ranch performed very well in Nielsen’s preliminary data, which has not been made public yet.
Nielsen and Luminate data almost always tell the same story (and Netflix’s global data when relevant), so this made me wonder about the very preliminary note I sent out regarding the show performing poorly.
However, now with more time, and data for the third episode, the stories are lining up. For days 1-6, Dutton Ranch is now the #2 series among the Paramount+ titles that I am tracking, averaging 8.5M viewers.
This means I have to reverse my commentary from earlier and now conclude that the Yellowstone franchise has definitely not tired and that the Beth and Rip characters are indeed strong enough to carry a show.

Update: Off Campus On Amazon:
Amazon’s new romance drama has also improved its rank position among Prime series since 2025, with two weeks of viewing data now available. After the first few days, it was on the lower end, and now it has moved up into the middle with 3.4M people watching.
The reason for this improvement is shown in the line chart below. Unlike most Amazon series for which daily viewing falls off steadily after day two, Off Campus is displaying a much steadier audience across the first two weeks.
But please, I beg everyone, do not call this show a “massive hit” or use similar language like so many people did with Heated Rivalry, and I am starting to see with Off Campus. Heated had a small audience in S1, no matter how much you read or hear about its social following and passionate fan base. Off-Campus viewing is actually bigger but also modest, for now.
REMEMBER: SOCIAL SUCCESS ≠ BIG AUDIENCE

Jack Ryan: Ghost War on Amazon: Prime Video continues to lead the streaming pack in terms of a scripted strategy, by utilizing published IP. This sequel movie to the four-season series has averaged 12.2M viewers after nine days of viewing. The show was never a breakout success, it was more of a “good” performer, but given the IP and format, I can understand why it was deemed worthy of an original movie. That decision appears to have paid off as Ghost War currently ranks #5 among Amazon original movies since 2024.

Nemesis on Netflix: Courtney Kemp created a sprawling universe with her Starz show Power, which has already spawned three spin-offs and at least one more on the way. Netflix lured her away from Power studio Lionsgate, but apparently, that only yielded this one series, as she has now moved to Apple. This would suggest that perhaps the Netflix relationship was not hunkey-dorey or particularly productive.
Reinforcing this theory is the fact that Nemesis has not been a particularly strong program for Netflix. In the U.S., after fourteen days of viewing, it has averaged 6.7M viewers. Worldwide, 18.5M viewers have watched across the first weekend and first full week. Both numbers put the show well behind many others on the platform since 2025, as demonstrated in the two charts below.

The Boroughs on Netflix: Another underwhelming show executive-produced by The Duffer Brothers, post-Stranger Things, on the heels of Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen. After seven days, 4.9M viewers have watched The Boroughs in the U.S., a middling show as depicted in the first chart below.
The second chart is for global Netflix viewing of each 2026 show’s launch weekend only. Even using this smaller subset, The Boroughs looks fragile with 5.6M viewers, ranking 21st. It falls in between Virgin River S7 and Finding Her Edge S1, which are respectable but unremarkable performers.
